Feel like having a few craft beers on the way home? How about some bottles or cans to stock the fridge? Need a nice selection to impress friends at a barbecue? The newly opened Antenna America Yokohama, in the Yokohama Station complex, can serve all these needs.
This satellite shop is run by Yokohama-based American craft beer importer Nagano Trading. Similar to its original Antenna America shop in Kannai, the new venue is both taproom and retail shop. You can buy draft beers to drink at the counter (pints ¥1000~) or choose from an impressive lineup of around twenty brands of American craft beer stocked in a whopping twelve refrigerators. Bottles and cans of beer can be enjoyed in the shop or taken to go. Craft beer buffs will find world-class beer from breweries like Sierra Nevada, Firestone Walker, Modern Times, Stone, New Belgium and more. Neophytes will be pleasantly overwhelmed with the choice, but worry not–the savvy staff is ready to offer guidance.
The shop also serves American-style bar food. The daytime menu (~17:00) has various appetizers (¥500) and hot dogs with about ten toppings from which to choose (¥650~). The more expansive dinner menu features waffle fries (¥500), jalapeno poppers (¥650), chicken wings with a selection of seven sauces (¥850~), and more.
The bar area is primarily standing room only with a few tables with stools. There is also a wall of T-shirts, pint glasses and other beer-related merchandise for purchase. Located within the new Food & Time Isetan in the West Exit area of the station, its easy access will make stopping by an enjoyable routine.
