Ah, the smell of spring is in the air. The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, and the cherry trees are waking from their winter slumber. More and more the outdoors are beckoning us to come out and play.
The hanami season has arrived. In Japan, sharing some sake under a cherry tree with friends is almost a seasonal requirement– of course, one that everyone is happy to oblige. Then as April nears its end, hanami parties give way to the festive Golden Week.
