    Blue Terminal

Yokohama offers countless excellent restaurants and bars, but this stylish café situated in the Yokohama International Passenger Terminal is one of the most scenic. “café & dining blue terminal” is open daily from morning to night, serving creative fusion dishes and specialty coffee inspired by Australian cafés. Its customers include cruise ship passengers and crew as well as locals and other tourists. Guests can relax here for as long as they like while appreciating the waterfront view.

According to cafe supervisor Kentaro Ito, it was built to match the original design of the pier, which many say is the most creative architecture in the city. As a gateway to Japan, the shop focuses on blending high-quality, Kanagawa products with specialty cuisine from all over the country. The signature craft burgers (¥1280~¥1480) use specially baked buns by BLUECORNER in Nakamachidai. I enjoyed the Garden Burger, a photogenic veggie burger (¥1280) with fresh vegetables, hummus and grated carrot in a cumin-spiced whole wheat bun. Yokohama Brewery’s pale ale or lager (¥850) are a great match with the burgers.

ÉRÅ[ÉqÅ[Ç∆ì˙ñ{íÉTo suit the tastes of guests from different backgrounds, the menu ranges from burgers in four varieties and pasta (¥1080~) to Vietnamese chicken noodle with coriander (¥980) and Hawaiian loco style meatloaf over rice (¥1280). Desserts such as pancakes (¥1280~), ice cream cake with kiwi yogurt and passionfruit (¥780), and crème brulee with pistachio (¥780) are highly recommended.

“Feel free to come in anytime and stay as long as you like,” says Ito with a smile, adding that he also spends much of his personal time in this comfortable café. While you are strolling harborside in this nice spring weather, why not take him up on his offer?
