With seats overlooking the beaches of Kamakura, Magokoro fuses good food, ecological and social consciousness, and a friendly down-to-earth atmosphere into a well rounded dining experience.

Just a short walk away from Hase Station on the Enoden line, Magokoro focuses on healthy macrobiotic hemp dishes and sweets with a variety of vegan and non-vegan options. Their Vegan Meal (lunch ¥1380, dinner ¥1580) is a healthy and generously portioned mix of kuru-mafu (wheat gluten) cutlets, tempeh, salad, a daily deli dish, and hemp soup. Even if you find yourself full, you may want a second round! Also, for those with a sweet tooth, they serve up scrumptious monthly macrobiotic hemp sweets like Blueberry Tofu Cheesecake (¥610) and Hemp Gelato (¥420~).

Their drink menu features a wide selection of alcoholic as well as health oriented drinks. One notable item is their Mayanuts Latte (¥680), which is a caffeine-free alternative to coffee made from Fair Trade imports of the Guatemalan superfood. If you’re looking to warm up from the ocean breezes, their Hemp Chai (¥680), made with real hemp powder, is a tasty and energizing drink.

Viewing hemp-culture as a way of life, the owners also use the restaurant for lectures and musical performances. In addition, Magokoro has a small store that sells ecologically oriented books, fair trade hemp clothing, locally made items, hemp powder, and hemp drinks. Magokoro’s balanced approach to healthy living lends it an allure that makes many guests want to come back for more.
