Have you ever woken one night in a sweat from a horrific nightmare? All of us are somehow fearful of something: the dark, a hollow whistling wind or a bizarre animal crying in the night!!

The Haunting of Hill House takes us into the very fears and psychosis of six individuals who spend the night in a haunted mansion as an experiment. It features a neurotic recluse, a sassy clairvoyant, a carefree young heir, a distinguished professor of the paranormal, a domineering spiritualist and her henpecked associate. Written in 1959 as a suspenseful novel by famed American mystery writer Shirley Jackson and later adapted into play by F. Andrew Leslie, it has been reworked as a feature film twice: as The Haunting both in 1963 and more recently in 1999 with Liam Neeson as the professor and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the clairvoyant role. Prolific writer Stephen King named The Haunting of Hill House as one of the greatest horror novels of the late twentieth century and the story even inspired some of his best sellers, such as The Shining and Rose Red.

The Arts Department at Yokohama International School has endeavoured to create a unique spine tingling atmosphere with its production of The Haunting of Hill House. Patrons will be immersed in the ambience and decor of a spooky Victorian manor and experience a creepy soundscape that may leave them speechless.

Dare you stay the night? The Haunting of Hill House is scheduled to possess the Tanner Auditorium of Yokohama International School on January 28, 29, 30 and 31, 2016.

The Haunting of Hill House is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. It is not suitable for young children.
